After getting back in touch with our adoption agency, we were mailed the "Application Part 2". This is the part of the paperwork where they literally find out everything about you. There is a part of the application (the medical portion) that literally asks you about your .......yea, you know what!!
We submitted tax returns, pay stubs, marriage license, bank statements, medical exams, birth certificates, a will, a guardianship plan, and an autobiography among many, many other things. The autobiography was actually an interesting part of the application because I hadn't written one of these since I was in school. It was fun for Jeremy and I to sit down and type a 3 page document about our individual lives and where we came from. We learned a lot just by doing this step. All that being said, the normal allotment for getting all of this information together and back in the mail to the agency is about 2 months. It was a HUGE stack of paperwork! We, being so excited to get started, had it all complete and in the mail within 1 week. :) The lady from our agency was quite impressed to say the least; my husband just laughed and smiled knowing my "Type A" personality. He actually said to me later that he wanted to make sure to get his part done quickly and correctly because he knew that I was on a mission and there was no stopping me! ha!
